Three cheers for the three veggie combo post I did yesterday. Dehydrated kale chips
Fresh Salads
And Roasted Sweet Potato Fries & Curly Fries. Judging from all the comments I got, I'm glad to hear you like your veggies as much as I do! Thanks for the props! And also on the home decorating shoutouts, too. Muah!!!!!
But you know me well enough to know I am not going to go on and on about veggies, when there's dessert to talk about!
You may remember a few weeks back I posted the Raw Vegan Chocolate Coconut Snowballs recipe.
Well, it was sooo popular and I had so many people write in to me to tell me how much they loved them and how easy, fast, and delish the recipe is.
You're thinking, why mess with a good thing? Well, I couldn't help myself and decided to make one tweak. I made it dark. Dark Chocolate that is.
Averie's Raw Vegan Dark Chocolate Coconut Snowballs are here:
1.5 cups shredded coconut
3/4 c maple syrup (or agave to be preserve true raw status if you care)
3/4 c Dark Cocoa Powder (I used Hershey's Special Dark and it's not technically raw but find what suits your lifestyle & needs online if needed)
Dash Vanilla Extract
Optional: 1/4 c coconut oil (I used it and encourage it!)
Optional: 1/4 c chia seeds (did not use it in today's blend)
Combine all the ingredients in a bowl & mix together by hand
Remove and put into a freeze-able container. Freeze til solid...
....Remove from freezer...
....and dig in! Here's a ball.
There could not be a simpler or darker dessert than that.
Or wait, maybe there could be something darker. I whipped up a batch of Dark Chocolate Macaroons.
And sent some off to a Birthday Girl.
And some to a Beautiful Pea.
Dinner you ask? Veggies, rabbit food? I've got another massaged kale salad with brock, cauli, cukes, and tomatoes. Dressed with my Homemade (Broccoli) Slaw Dressing. Apparently the Pea Household got in on the action, too.
And there was a salad with cukes, carrots, peppers, and some roasted sweet potato fries. This one I dressed with OJ, agave, and cracked black.
For dessert I dug into double decker dark balls (TWSS). Silly kids, the vegan dark chocolate coconut snowballs that you need to go make, now!
Moving along...
Something pink and pretty showed up in the mail!
And there was a great random act of kindness kind of message enclosed, too!
What is this lovely trinket? Why it's Shimmer Organics Mandarin & Honey Revitalizing Face Mask
Lisa from Shimmer Organics was kind enough to send this all organic, raw awesome mask! Here's a little bit about her products from her site: "All ingredients in the Mandarin and Honey Revitalizing Mask are pure, earth friendly, raw, and organic. I have hand selected every ingredient for its healing and restorative properties."
I can tell you this product smells heavenly and left my face feeling soft & toned. Great stuff! Thanks, Lisa!
Flashback Friday Pictures in honor of Miss Janetha I've got a couple I could scrounge up. As I've mentioned before, I don't have anything older than 4 years or so saved on memory stick. Everything else is on actual 4 x 6's and I don't have time to convert things. I'd rather spend my free time in the kitch or with my fam.
But here were some hot air balloons that used to drop down into the private canyon behind our San Diego house so low that I swear, sometimes I thought they would just drop in for dinner. Literally.
And here were two puppies my dog, Britney, had. The breed is papillon and they were only days old here. They were literally the size of hamsters when they were born. Too cute!
Yoga Today is Supta Virasana (Reclining Hero Pose). Great for runners or anyone who just wants to get in for a deep quad stretch. Love this pose for that!
Tip of the Day: My Chia Seed GiveAway!!!!! If you're not already entered, go get your pretty self entered for a 3 Pound Bag of Chia Seeds!!!!!
Jessica's got a GiveAway
Candace has a GiveAway too
And I did A Guest Post on the lovely Janetha's Blog. Check it out if you want to know more about why I went raw & vegan!
What's on your agenda this weekend? Anything fun going on? I'd love to hear all about it!
And are you a milk, dark, or white chocolate person? Or none of the above? I know a few of you are not chocolate fans. It amazes me, because I love dark chocolate. Alot! But whatever floats your boat, I say!

I hope that it says "NON EDIBLE" on the mask b/c it looks like one of my nut butters!
your pups were just adorable!
I love dark dark choc, but even more I love CAROB- and they sell raw carob too- soooo delish!
Have a great TGIF!
DID YOU TRY THE ANNIE'S DRESSING YET?! DID YOU LIKE IT?! You'll have to let me know!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Your new furniture is sooooooo beautiful!!! I love the desk and that pillow on the chair! so prettyyyyyyyyy
Those curly fries look spectacular too! I made b-nut squash fries today!!
LOOK OUT FOR SNAIL MAIL HEADED YOUR WAY! :)
LOVE YOU MAMA!
Boy I'm glad its Friday myself! And in honor of that, and the fact that Nov. 5th is my bday- I'm throwing a birthday/housewarming party to get the weekend started off right! I used to like milk chocolate alot- though I was always really more of a caramel kind of girl... Unfortunately being vegan limits the caramel possibilities!! I do however LOVE coconut- and I am still wanting to try these snowballs out!
Puppies are really the cutest things.. I just can't help but love them!!
dark all the way baby :)
Aw, thanks for posting about my giveaway! :) Hey girl, do you have a vegan cupcake recipe? If so, can you send me an email?? Thank you. :)
Ummm...also...AMAZING chocolate goodies going on here.
I just found your blog through Janetha's guest post and....wow. I seriously couldn't even look at the dessert pictures because I had such food envy. I WILL be making one (or all) or those this weekend! Glad to "meet" you - thanks for all the good recipes!
Oh you sweet girl. I can't wait to get my package! And I only say TWSS here because you started it.
Your weekend sounds glorious! Enjoy your Friday!!!
Thanks for popping by my blog, Ave (Do you let people call you that?).
I was listening to a podcast earlier about people with thyroid conditions (me) and it said cutting back grains help people - and just when I was about to panic (even though I've given up grains before) I thought "Averie's site will have great non-grain recipes. No problem." I was comforted.
Thanks for all the great recipes and your fabulous spirit.
I love ALL chocolate (obviously, always vegan) but I prefer it to taste mild and sweet, like milk chocolate, but not TOO sweet. It has to be good quality with lots of vanilla in it, and texture is SO important: it must be creamy and melty! Okay, I have to go get some chocolate now!
Look what you've done Averie!!!!
Ah, you are a dark chocolate girl after my own heart. And ohmigosh, we're both macaroon-making! I love how we can both have different takes on the same traditionally-not-vegan recipe.
P.S. I'm writing you an email soon. I got your sweet email last night and it made me so happy, but I wanted to not just send you a generic, rushed reply, because you deserve so much more.
Tons of love,
Katie
More chocolate. That's the topic on Kris's i heart wellness blog, too. She even has a giveaway going on. Check her out.
By the way, I've gotta try that dark chocolate powder. Yum!
Thanks for the comment, I'll certainly stick with the yoga and look out for some other DVDs or classes.

I love reading your blog!! I have to make those chocolate snowballs!!! They look amazing! The puppies are so cute!!!!!!!! Have a great weekend!!!! xoxo
This is like the one thing I haven't made yet.. and neeeed too.
Coconut+dark chocolate is my favorite. And now that you've gone ahead and made them uberrr dark, its gonna be a must. :)
And yeah, the breakfast cookie doesn't take me 7 minutes either, I think doing a video post, talking about it just adds to the length.
Guess what? I can make those now because I got my RFW order, yippee!!!!
Oooh, I would love a mask like that! Soft and smooth is a good thing these days : )
My favorite chocolate used to be white but now it's any chocolate :D
I'm totally a dark chocolate kind of gal! And now that I've Mama Pea make your glorious looking kale chips in the oven, I think I'm gonna have to try it!
Enjoy your friend my friend!
Love the dark chocolate idea for the snowballs. As if they already weren't awesome!
Those puppies are too cute!
be on the lookout for tons of hot air balloons on weekends here in Phoenix! I live on the North side of town and every weekend watching the balloons is the highlight of my Saturday runs!
Those chocolate snowballs look to die for! I am definitely going to be making some. Dark chocolate heaven, here I come!
Averie, that shimmer mask stuff looks like a dessert.. lol I woulda tried to eat it.
Your dogs puppies are amazingly cute.. did you keep them both???
My weekend plans are: NOTHING and I couldnt be more stoked about it.. just the usual household stuff but Im hoping to have a relaxing few days!!
Have a great Friday Averie :) :)
Puppies! So cute! That must have been a delightful experience.
I am all over those kale chips and snowballs. I love how your recipes are so quick and easy. Now that I'm gluten free they will really be coming in handy!
Thanks much!
When I come over for dinner, please make curly sweet potato fries! Look delish! I loved your post on Janetha's blog- answered some things I'd wondered about but kept forgetting to ask you.
Love the pups! :D
Milk chocolate all.the.way. I hated chocolate up until I was about 13/14 and still don't like it much straight up- combined with other things, I love it (PB cups!). No plans for the weekend...tuning my harp, seeing my dad :) wishing I was in San Fran at the Foodbuzz fest!
TGIF for sure!! Back in the day I used to be an Arby's curly fry girl and those sweet potatoes remind me of them. Yum!
Dark chocolate macaroons? Oh no you didn't. Dark chocolate lasts about .5 seconds in this house. I don't even like chocolate that much but bitter dark chocolate hits the spot!
Those puppies are way too cute! They're so tiny!! I hope you have a wonderful Friday :)
oh my! Those coconut snowballs look out of this world. Im seriously craving some now. Ha! TGIF is right! Have a super great start to a wonderful weekend!
aw I just want to cuddle up with your pups and those dark chocolate coconut snowballs :)
I am all for milk chocolate -- I think I hate one too many hershey kisses in my day.
have a great day with your beautiful family, babydoll!
I love hot air balloons. They used to have a really cool hot air balloon festival in New Mexico when I was growing up and my family would go each year and check out the balloons. I need to go for a ride in one before I die...maybe I should add that to my bucket list.
Ahhh Averie - Coconut oil is amazing isn't it? I use it instead of butter in a lot of recipes! I heart it so much and I heart your blog so much!! Your posts are always enjoyable!
Happy Friday!!
I totally just went to check out your post on Janetha's blog and really loved it! I'm curious as to what you thought about traditional chinese medicine! I am a big believer of the powers of acupunture and herbal remedies, to I was wondering what your experiences with them were!
I'm glad you discoered a lifestyle that saves you from all the aches and pains during your 20's! And i'm also super excited that you love love making goodies in the kitchen. Everything always look so good!!
ahhhhh DARK chocolate! such a simple swap but will make them super delish! love it :)
hahaha i LOVE your little puppies! If only they could stay that small forever right!
I made these the first time you posted, but without all the ingredients so it was more like a topping that I used in my cereal, still loved it!
Oooh, I love dark chocolate, I may have to try those out! (Hopefully a nutritious dessert will work for me ;) )
I have your kale chip recipe up, I plan to make some, but since I don't have a dehydrator, I found a kale chip recipe (just oil and salt) floating around the web suggesting 350F 7-min on each side. But I wanted to add your nooch topping, do you think that is a good amount of time/heat?
What a great twist to the recipe Averie! And that facial mask sounds amazing. I just love "healthy" beauty products.
xxoo
Heather
Hey,
I just found your blog through CCV's. I'm so glad she linked to your site today because you have a great blog!
the raw vegan chocolate coconut snowballs look absolutely delicious. i was going to make them today but when i was shopping for cocoa powder none of it was vegan. was the hershey's one you used vegan?
Everything in this post looks sooo good!! :)
I HAVE ALL OF THOSE INGREDIENTS! I'm going to make those AND the kale chips in my oven at 200 degrees. WOOHOO! Finally!!! Sorry for the extra enthusiasm.
Ok I can't get much easier than that for the chocolate coconutty goodness. SOO yumm...and I still haven't eaten yet so I'm ready to start gnawing on my fist.
The picture of those hot air balloons are beautiful!! I can't imagine how cool that must've looked. Oh and your little teeny tiny puppies are so cute! My best friend's sister has 2 papillons...butterfly in French, right? They are the cutest dogs.
Ok we're FINALLY going to dinner..as I said though - I'd rather just skip dinner and have the chocolate coconutty balls for dessert! :)
I know I said this before but when I finally have time (over Christmas) I WILL be making those dark chocolate coconut snowballs!
