Tribute Post 1: Photos From Readers' Who've Made My Recipes

How are you doing today?  I'm doing great!  As I mentioned, I got hired at a local gym to teach yoga and today I did all my HR Paperwork and drug screen.  It's quite ironic to me that as a yoga teacher, I needed to do a drug test.  Since getting pregnant with Skylar nearly 4 years ago, I have not drank alcohol.  At all.  Unless vanilla extract countsLet alone any doing anything else.  But I know they need to test for these things, it's just kinda funny.  I like to think of myself as a poster child for clean living.  Unless Raw Vegan Chocoalate Turtles count.

Speaking of which, I am so happy those were a hit!  I guess I'm two for two this week on remakes of store-bought candy.  Ahem, did I hear anyone say Raw Vegan Peanut Butter Cups?   Anyway though, thanks for the lovely comments on the Raw Vegan Turtles!

Today in honor of all the readers who've written me to tell me they were going to make some of my recipes and actually did so, and then posted their version of my original recipes on their blogs, I'm featuring those readers who've sent me links & pictures.

*This is an Open Call Going Forward because I would like to do more of these types of posts, so if you make a recipe of mine, take a picture, email it to me, and I'll get it published here.  If you have a blog, you don't need to do anything more than just send me the link.  I will just "lift" the picture from your blog because I am sneaky that way.

So without further ado, here are the Reader Pics.
Each pic has two links:  First, the link back to the Reader's Blog
And the Second Link goes back to the place on my Blog where the Original Recipe is Posted.  Enjoy!

What's your Proudest Recipe or your Biggest Recipe Success Story?  For me, I am pretty proud of the Raw Vegan Peanut Butter Cups, the Raw Vegan Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Balls, and the Kale Chips

But honestly, I am most proud of the fact that I cook.  When my husband met me 10 years ago and he opened my fridge, and there was nothing in it except water, hot mustard, and maraschino cherries.  Cupboards?  Triscuits, Peanut Butter, Vodka, Tequila.  Cooking meant putting Cheerios in a bowl and adding milk.  I dined on Triscuits with PB, Triscuits with hot mustard, and vodka with cherries.  Fast forward 10 years, I am a kitchen appliance junkie, there is nothing I am scared to make, I love to create things from scratch with just an idea in mind, and I make nearly 100% of everything I eat from the ground up.  So that's my kitchen success story.  What's yours?

I am NEVER making those darn "reeses" again! I ate both tonight! Addictive little buggers! You are absolutely amazing!!!! I have stuff for the Turtles but since I lack self control I can't make those for a while.

Being primarily vegan you have to cook and I'm pretty proud of my workout and eating accomplishments. I have come so far in a year.

Averie you are so incredible - I know this is going to sound so lame and cheesy but you are a gift to the food blogging community. Look at all the incredible recipes you've shared with so many of us! I hate to say it, but you should really keep some of these a secret and write a book!! Granted that would mean the blogging community couldn't get them for free but I'm just thinking of you. I need to save all these recipes NOW!! Plus I still need to pick up some nooch. I can't believe there are so many incredible desserts to make. I HAVE to try them out while family is here for the holidays.

You're incredible!!!

I'm with Hayley- I sense a cookbook coming on :-)

When I did Atkins a few yrs ago, I became UNSCARED of cooking veggies- I sauteed ANYTHING and everything in cooking spray and that was the beginning of my days as a cook. Prior to that I had no idea what to do.

In college, I started a fire in the oven while making a frozen pizza because I thought the cardboard on the bottom was a disposable pan! Now, I make my own bread, almond milk,... You name it, I will try to make it! It sounds like we were quite similar in the beginning!

Oh my gosh where I have been? Me with no computer=missing out on your goodness! Wow! nd sriously, congrats on getting the job!!

Hmm.. I'm the same way about how far I've come in cooking. I use to overcomplicate "EasyMac".. and I guess the concept was way too simple for me to accept. Maybe that's a good thing lol.

What a fun post Averie! It's always an accomplishment to have other's make your original dishes. They all are such winners! :)

I have a few recipes on my own blog that I created myself, and I really am proud of them! It takes a true passion for food to be able to create a unique recipe. Even some simple yogurt mixes or cereal/seed/nut mixes that I've created have made me pretty darn proud!

What a great post - you're famous. :)

I really want to try your peanut butter cups. They all look so good.

I love cooking as well. Growing up my mom and I always baked together, but after college, I learned there was so much more in the kitchen to make other than cookies. Before that, I thought all veggies came from a can. ;)

so happy your recipes are becoming such a HIT! Love it :D They all look great...my chia pudding failed, but I'll play around more soon.

I am proud that I just 'cook' now- the most successful recipe is my lara cakes, but I don't think anyone has made them :( I like them though!

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS on getting the yoga position! As I've said before, I would LOVE to take a class with you. One day...

Love this tribute post. There are still so many things to try... and I still have so much kale chip dressing left!

Holy poop, a drug test?! I'm quite surprised that's required. But congrats on the job!!

And thank you so much for posting the link to my version of your Breakfast Cookie. There are soooooOooo many of your recipes that I want to try. You really truly should write a book.

Thanks for the continuing source of inspiration.

Woohoo I can comment again! :)

I am going to try the peanut butter cups this weekend, DEFINITELY. My husband has a bit of a sweet tooth but is also a health nut. If I tell him these are 'raw and healthy,' he will eat them all so I don't. :)

You're awesome, girl!!!

Wow! Everyone is doing a great job. The food all looks fantastic! I wish I could try it all.

Im most proud of the fact that I cook too! I rarely eat out and prefer to home make everything. It puts a smile on my face when I can devour something I put some time and effort into=)

Averie, you are my allergy girl! I can’t believe we have the same ones!! And Garlic!? I didn’t know I could even be allergic to garlic…..I don’t care for it, it doesn’t cause my hives, but I think my skin gets irritated from it!

I would love to chat more to you about all of this, it is surprisingly so interesting to me that my body knows what it wants and doesn’t want! Crazy huh?? I do crave what I can’t have, ie. White bread…..crave it and can’t eat it!

Can I email you to chat more??

PS. Next time I make an “Averie Recipe” I will send you a shot!!

Have a great day, Love!
