I love the flavor of coconut and that's a big factor for me. I learned that unrefined coconut oil has all the amazing coconut-y flavor whereas refined does not.

I have been researching this Coconut Oil to use with baking--I am changing the way we think about baking around here! (first flax seed now coconut oil!) Thank you so much for the recomendation! I love coconut oil, but I'm too poor and too cheap to buy it, so I only eat it when my family cooks with it. I'd love to have some in my kitchen so I don't have to worry about other oils getting damaged in cooking.

I learned that after the coconut is grated and the milk is separated, the milk is left to sit for 24 hours covered and the oil naturally separates and retains the flavor or the coconut.

I'd love to win because i have heard so MANY AMAZING things about coconut oil from the goodness it does for your body to skin moisturizer and hair conditioner. it sounds absolutely wonderful, but on my current grad student budget everything but the essentials are out. this would be an awesome way to try out something that i've been lusting after for a loooong time!

something i learned from the tropical traditions website, which blows my mind, is that they use coconut water instead of just regular water. i LOVE coconut water and have wonderful memories of my mom chopping open a young coconut for me when i was a little kid so I can drink the delicious water :)
